Our Evaluation and Treatment Techniques
Find Out How We Can Help You
At Spine & Sports Injury Center we use a number of highly-effective evaluation and treatment techniques to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our clinical judgment and years of experience.
Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)
The Selective Functional Movement Analysis (SFMA) is designed to assess your body’s limitations and determine how these limitations are affecting your movement. The Physical Therapists at Spine and Sports use aspects of this examination to not only evaluate your current injury, but discover what caused that injury in the first place.

Functional Movement Screen
FMS is the screening tool used to identify limitations or asymmetries in seven fundamental movement patterns that are key to functional movement quality in individuals with no current pain complaint or known musculoskeletal injury.
These movement patterns are designed to provide observable performance of basic loco motor, manipulative and stabilizing movements by placing an individual in extreme positions where weaknesses and imbalances become noticeable if appropriate mobility and motor control is not utilized.

Anatomy in Motion (AiM)
A world of ‘upside down thinking’ to both challenge and embrace existing anatomical concepts. Over the years working with and studying motion has brought to life new rules and new possibilities when working with the human body. My intention is simply to determine the natural movement patterns and processes, used by the human body and the brain to create an environment for self-correction of it’s many ailments and pathologies. Is it possible to break anatomy down to it’s rawest state and understand how muscles, bones, joints, nerves and fascia are all set up perfectly to create not just an environment for motion but also an environment for healing?

Dry Needling
Dry needling (DN), also known as Intramuscular Manual Therapy (IMT) has been found in the literature to improve pain, disability and function. The DN technique is a modern Western medical modality that is not based on Traditional Chinese Medical acupuncture, in that the purpose of DN is not to alter the flow of Qi or energy along traditional Chinese meridians. Dry needling has it’s own theoretical concepts, terminology, and clinical application.
